Why Offer Laser Therapy?
Both Laser therapy & Laser-Puncture is a safe, fast, non-invasive, side-effect free way to relieve pain and accelerate healing in all species of animals. Why not explore an alternative holistic approach to traditional Western medicine. Laser Therapy is backed by clinical studies, research and evidence based neurophysiology.
Does It Hurt?
Super Pulsed lasers deliver light photons deep into the tissues in a safe pain-free manner. The pulse durations are so short (in nanoseconds) that there is no heat sensation. Pets generally become very relaxed and even very small black-furred animals tolerate treatments very well.
Are There Any Side Effects or
These lasers have been used for over 20 years by healthcare providers in over 30 different countries with very few side effects ever reported. With proper instruction, correct protocol, and application, Laser Therapy provides a very safe alternative modality with no danger of addiction seen with traditional medications.
How Long Does Each Treatment Take?
The typical treatment times (without the probes) varies from 5 - 15 minutes depending on the size of the area and the severity of the condition being treated. With the acupuncture probes, the treatments times range from 15 seconds to 2 minutes per point. Compared to the traditional 20 - 40 minutes for traditional acupuncture, Laser-puncture is an incredibly FAST treatment modality.
How Often Should My Pet Be Treated?
Acute conditions may be treated daily, especially if there is significant pain. Most chronic problems respond well when treatments are received at least 2 - 3 times per week for two weeks, then tapering off to once a week as the condition improved. Some veterinarians prescribe the 3-2-1 rule which is 3 times the first week, then 2 times the following week, finally ending with 1 treatment the last week.
How Many Treatments Does It Take?
For acute condition, 1 - 6 treatments may resolve the condition. More chronic conditions may require 10 - 12 treatments. Certain conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control inflammation and pain symptoms.
How Long Before the Results Are Felt?
You will typically notice improvement right away in pets. Humans may have a delayed reaction of 24 hours and chronic conditions may follow the Generation Rule. The Generation Rule states that if you are in your thirties, it may take up to three weeks to reach the loading dose. Laser works at the cellular level and is very effective for promoting rapid healing.
How Does Laser Work?
Throughout the world, laser therapy is used to treat acute / chronic pain, maintain wellness and improve health & athletic performance. The goal of laser therapy is to deliver light energy units in the form of photons to damaged cells. Photons absorbed by the cells through Laser Therapy stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This biochemical increase in cell energy is used to help transform cells from a state of illness to a stable, healthy state.
Laser therapy may help eliminate the need for surgery or medications. Often times as the effects of the laser treatments takes hold, patients can reduce the amount of traditional drugs needed to control the pain.
